DOH reports 3,379 new COVID-19 cases, total now 122,754

The Department of Health (DOH) Friday reported 3,379 new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases on Friday.
Total number of COVID-19 cases are now at 122,754 of which 53, 734 are active.
Of the new cases, National Capital Region (NCR) accounted for 1,846. But Cebu, which was under strict quarantine a month, has fallen out of the top five on new cases, replaced by three provinces which are under modified enhanced community quarantine.
These were Rizal with 314, Laguna 276 and Cavite 145. Quezon, which is not part of those under MECQ has 66.
There are 24 deaths, which brought total fatalities to 2, 168.
Fourteen are from Central Visayas, NCR 9, and Western Visayas , 1.
Of the 24 deaths, 1 happened in August, 4 in July, 8 in June, 8 in May, 1 in April, and 2 in March.
The DOH said 96 patients got well from COVID-19, placing total recoveries at 66,852. DMS
