DOH reports 3,561 new COVID-19 cases

The Department of Health (DOH) reported 3,561 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, bringing total cases to 119,460.
Active cases are at 50, 473, of which 90.9 percent are mild, asymptomatic 7.8 percent. severe 0.8 percent and critical 0.5 percent.
The National Capital Region, Laguna, Cavite and Rizal were four of the top five in new cases. These three areas were placed under modified enhanced community quarantine from August 4 to 18.
The National Capital Region has 2,041 new cases followed by Laguna 222, Cebu 221, Cavite 100 and Rizal 81.
Twenty-eight deaths were recorded, resulting in total fatalities of 2,150.
Eleven deaths happened in the NCR, nine in Central Visayas, two each in Davao and Zamboanga Peninsula, one each in Calabarzon, Western Visayas, Northern Mindanao and an unspecified region.
Of the 28 deaths, ten occurred in August, 16 in July, one each in June and May.
There were 569 patients who survived COVID-19, bringing total recoveries to 66,837. DMS
