DOH reports double-digit COVID-19 death rates

The Department of Health (DOH) reported one of the highest death rates from coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Friday.
There were 42 deaths, raising the total to 1,360. It is the first time deaths reached double digits after several weeks.
New cases reached 1,233 bringing the total to 52, 914.
Out of the new cases, there were 848 fresh cases. Other regions were the highest at 413 followed by National Capitol Region with 405 and Central Visayas, with seven.
Late cases reached 385, with the biggest coming from other regions with 218, NCR 139 and Central Visayas 28.
Recoveries remained past the 200 mark, with 286 patients recovering from COVID-19. The total stands at 13, 230. DMS
