DOH says five firecracker injuries in two days

In the first two days of their surveillance period for the Christmas season, the Department of Health (DOH) has recorded five firecracker-related injuries.
Data from the DOH showed four more cases were reported by sentinel hospitals in December 22-23.
“A cumulative total of 5 injury cases were reported... This is four cases lower compared to the same reporting period of 2017,” said the DOH.
All of the five cases were males with ages ranging from 6 to 12 years old.
Types of injuries sustained are blast/burn without amputation with three, followed by blast/burn with amputation with one and eye injury with one. DMS
