Driver killed, another hurt in Cavite shooting

A driver was killed, while another person was wounded in a shooting incident in Cavite on Saturday morning.
Chief Supt. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, Police Regional Office 4-A director, identified the victims as Simeon Lumbres, a driver, and Lovely Lumbres, 19 both from Tanauan, Batangas.
Eleazar said based on initial report the victims were on board a Mitsubishi Adventure vehicle when the shooting incident occurred at the vicinity of San Antonio De Padua Church, Brgy. Pooc 2, Silang, Cavite at around 9:50 a.m.
He said the victims were repeatedly fired upon by two unidentified male suspects using caliber 45 pistol.
Eleazar said Simeon was declared dead on arrival after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds, while Lovely, who was hit on her right arm, was evacuated at QualiMed Hospital in Santa Rosa, Laguna for medical attention.
Police Supt. Rommel Javier, Silang Municipal Police Station Chief, said the victims attended a wedding in Silang Cavite when the incident happened.
Investigation has been ongoing to arrest the suspects. Robina Asido/DMS
