A broadcaster in Dumaguete City died Tuesday afternoon a day after he was shot by motorcycle-riding gunmen, the National Union of Journalists in the Philippines (NUJP) said.
Edmund Sestoso, former Dumaguete City NUJP chapter chairman, who hosts the daily blocktime “Tug-anan” on dyGB 91.7 FM, was on his way home to Barangay Daro after his program when he was shot several times by gunmen around 10 a.m.
The gunmen also shot tires of a pedicab whose driver had intended to rush Sestoso to a hospital.
