Duque to answer critics after ‘war’ with COVID-19
April 16, 2020
Health Secretary Francisco Duque III Thursday said he will answer his critics, including senators calling for his resignation, but after the 'war' versus the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) ends.
In a statement, Duque said: "We are at war with an invisible enemy, which, to this day, remains unpredictable. "We will answer these allegations in due time."
"Right now, we will continue to be in the trenches with our health care workers and frontliners," said Duque.
Duque said what is more important is for everyone to cooperate with the government in fighting the virus.
"This is not a fight of one man or of one agency. it is a fight for all of us Filipinos," he said.
Fifteen senators, led by Senate President Tito Sotto, filed a resolution calling for Duque's resignation for “failure of leadership, negligence, lack of foresight, inefficiency”. DMS
