President Rodrigo Duterte conferred on Monday the Order of Lapu-Lapu to 99 Philippine National Police (PNP), four Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel, and one Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) member at the Multi-Purpose Center in Camp Crame.
The conferment of Order of Lapu-Lapu honors men and women of the PNP who waged their lives to liberate Marawi City from the Islamic State-inspired Maute terrorist group.
The Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM) said two awardees of Medalya ng Kalasag were from the Special Action Force who lost their lives in the five-month long siege.
Nine awardees from various PNP units received the Medalya ng Magalong who exemplified extra ordinary service or have made exceptional contributions for the liberation of Marawi City.
DPRM added 82 police personnel were awarded Medalya ng Kampilan who were seriously wounded or injured or suffered great loss of property as a direct result of their participation during the war.
The Medalya ng Kamagi was given to the six PNP personnel who, not falling under any of the above-mentioned Order of Lapu-lapu medals, participated in and contributed significantly to an activity pursuant to liberation of Marawi. DMS
