Duterte declares Sept 1 as regular holiday for Eid’l Adha

President Rodrigo Duterte has declared Sept. 1, 2017 as a regular holiday in observance of Eid'l Adha or Feast of Sacrifice.
Eid'l Adha is one of the two important feasts of Islam. The other one is Eid'l Fitr or Feast of Ramadan.
"Pursuant to the final declaration of the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos has recommended 01 September 2017 as the day corresponding to the observance of Eid'l Adha," Duterte said in Proclamation No. 297 issued on Tuesday.
Under Republic Act No. 9849, Eid'l Adha shall be celebrated as a regular holiday. Celerina Monte/DMS
