Duterte explains why he did not vote for barangay polls
May 15, 2018
President Rodrigo Duterte said on Tuesday that he did not cast his votes in the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan elections on Monday because all the candidates were his friends and supporters.
"Almost all were my supporters during the last election and they would never believe that I voted or not in them, so I think the better option is just skip the voting," he told reporters during his visit at the wake of former Senator Edgardo Angara in Taguig City.
He said he did not want those candidates in Davao City to have doubt on him.
The President said he was also busy monitoring the elections.
