Duterte orders creation of trust fund for BI workers

President Rodrigo Duterte's creation of a trust fund for the Bureau of Immigration employees is a clear proof of his concern for the state workers.
In a statement, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Duterte has directed the creation of a trust fund for the payment of salaries and overtime to BI employees
Duterte recognizes the hard work and sacrifices made by government employees, including those of the Bureau of Immigration employees, added Roque.
Roque said these are subject to such guidelines to be issued by the Department of Justice, the Department of Budget and Management and the Commission on Audit, which will be sourced from the express lane fees and charges under the Department of Justice (DOJ)-BI Special Provision No. 1, “Immigration Fees and Collections,” Volume I-A, page 1062.
