Duterte reiterates commitment to certify as urgent passage of proposed BBL

President Rodrigo Duterte has reiterated his commitment to certify as urgent the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law.

He made the commitment again during his meeting with the leaders of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front in Malacanang on Wednesday.

"The President asked them (congressional leaders) to finalize already their version of the BBL to consolidate all pending versions, and he will certify it as urgent,"said Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque in a briefing Thursday.

Roque said this only shows that Duterte is serious in achieving lasting peace in Mindanao. Celerina Monte/DMS
