Duterte says he will fire more officials before leaving for China

President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday night said he will fire more corrupt officials before leaving for China to attend the second Belt and Road forum.
“Now if you are into corruption, you’ll be removed. Next week, when I fly back to report to work, before I leave for China, I will remove a lot of officials,” Duterte said during his campaign rally speech in Bacolod City.
Duterte said he asked those officials he previously removed not to do corrupt acts.
“I told you we are friends. I return the favor and give you work but I asked you to not enter corruption,” he said.
Duterte told the public to be assertive and call the government hotline 8888 to report corrupt activities.
“For corruption, directly go to me. If you cannot, we have 8888, you call them,” Duterte said, adding he will immediately call the alleged corrupt officials to Malacanang.
“I hate corruption. All you have to do is to resist,” he said. Ella Dionisio/DMS
