Duterte says UN rights commissioner has “big”, but “empty” head
April 4, 2018
President Rodrigo Duterte on said Tuesday United Nations High Commissioner for human rights Zeid Ra’ad al Hussein he has a "big head", but it is "empty".
Last month, Hussein said Duterte needs "psychiatric evaluation" following his administration's petition before a trial court to include some 600 left-leaning individuals, including a Filipino UN rapporteur, in the terrorist list.
Duterte, in a speech in Oriental Mindoro, said he wants to tell Hussein: "Look, you have a big head but it's empty. There is no gray matter between your ears. It's hollow. It's empty. It cannot even sustain a nutrient for your hair to grow."
He noted that Hussein has been losing his hair.
At the same time, Duterte said the International Criminal Court could not send him to jail.
"You're dreaming that you can send me to jail," he said.
The ICC has vowed to continue with its preliminary examination against Duterte for allegedly committing crimes against humanity due to his bloody war on drugs. This was despite the Philippines' withdrawal from the Rome Statute, creating the ICC. Celerina Monte/DMS
