Duterte slams Pangilinan once more on Juvenile Justice Act
November 30, 2019
President Rodrigo Duterte slammed Senator Francis Pangilinan anew on Saturday.
During his speech in the program commemorating the 156th Birth Anniversary of Andres Bonifacio in Caloocan City, Duterte criticized Pangilinan and R.A. 9344 or the "Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006."
According to Duterte, the law which prevents the authorities from arresting minors caused several young law offenders to repeat their crimes.
"They go in and out of prison because of the Pangilinan law," said Duterte.
"They just go in and out. They steal, kill, rape," he added.
He added that apprehended minors were not even given a social responsibility lecture. This, Duterte said, makes them "daring and bold." Cristina Eloisa Baclig/DMS
