Eight Abu Sayyaf members surrender in Sulu

Eight Abu Sayyaf members surrendered with their high-powered firearms surrendered to forces of Joint Task Force Sulu on Saturday morning.
The eight bandits who are remnants of the slain ASG leader Alhabsy Misaya surrendered to Lt. Col. Jessie Montoya, commanding officer of 2nd Special Forces Battalion at its headquarters in Sitio Bayug, Brgy. Samak, Talipao, Sulu.
The ASG members who surrendered were: Rakib Usman Mujakkil, 35 and Sadhikal Sabi Asnon, 38, both from Sitio Taluk-Taluk, Brgy. Capual; and Jarrain Elil, 52 from Brgy. Sacuban all of Omar, Sulu; Wahab Buklaw, 47 and Anggan Ali Sahaw, 43, both from Brgy. Timudas, Pata, Sulu; Bandi Ahadjula, 56 and Adih Manis Juhaini, 25, both from Brgy. Tukay, Parang, Sulu; and Alden Banon, 30, a resident of Brgy. Kabungkol, Talipao, Sulu.
They brought with them a total of eight high-powered firearms, as follows: two M16 rifles, one M14 rifle, and five M1 Garand rifles as a gesture of their intention to return to the folds of the law and live peacefully with the community.
The eight will undergo medical examination to check their physical condition. Then, a custodial debriefing shall be conducted. DMS
