Eleazar reminds public to save task force hotline numbers

April 6, 2020

The Joint Task Force Corona Virus Shield (JTF CoViD Shield) on Monday urged the public to save its hotline numbers in their phones as it vowed to address concerns regarding the implementation of the guidelines of the Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).

JTF CoViD Shield commander Police Lieutenant General Guillermo Eleazar said they have persons who attend to calls at the hotlines 24/7 as part of the effort to inform the public regarding the implementation of the guidelines on the movement of cargoes and those who are exempted from the home quarantine or the Authorized Persons Outside Residence (APOR).

The hotline numbers are 0998-849-0013 for Smart users and 0917-538-2495 for Globe users.  JTF CoViD Shield can also be reached through its email address: ncovmonitoring@gmail.com.

Based on the JTF CoViD Shield, they received a total of 1,478 complaints and inquiries from March 18,  a day after the ECQ was ordered implemented by President Rodrigo Duterte, to April 4.

Of the 1,478 calls made, a total of 913 of them were related to APOR while 173 were related to movement of cargoes. Also 392 were calls  to the JTF CoViD Shield hotlines for other concerns but mostly related to ECQ guideline implementation.

A total of 1,160 of the calls made were inquiries while the rest of 318 were complaints.

“We were able to act on all the complaints and inquiries made via our hotlines. We hope that this will serve as an encouragement to our kababayan to communicate with us all their concerns regarding home quarantine, movement of cargoes and other issues pertaining to the ECQ guidelines implementation,” Eleazar said.

Meanwhile, for cargo-related inquiries and concerns, the public can also call the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) through its Dedicated Control Point (DCP) hotline at 0926-225-5474.

HPG Director Brigadier General Eliseo Cruz earlier vowed to immediately act on all matters of security and unhampered movement of cargoes delivering food and other basic needs. Ella Dionisio/DMS
