Espenido claims Espinosa linked to P5.6 billion shabu haul in Bulacan

June 11, 2020

Controversial cop Lt. Col. Jovie Espenido linked Kerwin Espinosa to the P5.6 billion worth of shabu seized recently  by policemen in Marilao, Bulacan.

Espenido said the two people who were arrested  with a Chinese during a buy-bust in Marilao town last June 4, siblings Angela and Ma. Lyn Tulio, were Espinosa's people at the latter's hometown of Albuera, Leyte.

The Tulios and Chinese citizen Yuwen Cai were apprehended during the operation where around 828 kilos of shabu were confiscated.

Espinosa, son of late Albuera town mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr., is active in the illegal drug trade even while under the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Espenido alleged.

Espenido allages that  Espinosa has operations in the provinces of Pampanga, Cavite and Bulacan, and the cities of Pasay and Taguig in Metro Manila.

He said two more people  are connected to Espinosa as  couriers.

Among them is Danny Apiga, who was killed with a Chinese during a shootout in Paranaque City last Saturday where 36 kilos of shabu valued at P244.8 million were recovered.

The other one is Ryan Labandria,  killed in a shootout with policemen in Taguig City last May 23 where 12 kilos of  shabu worth P81.6 million were seized.

Police Drug Enforcement Group (DEG) director Brig.Gen. Romeo Caramat Jr. said they are still verifying Espenido's revelations.

Espenido,  former police chief of Albuera, led an operation against members of Ozamiz-based Parojinog clan allegedly involved in drug trade when he was the the city's police commander. DMS
