The director of Quezon City Police District (QCPD) on Sunday ordered for a conduct of an investigation in the death of a former police officer in Barangay Old Balara last Saturday.
Brig. Gen. Danilo Macerin said the suspects were six unidentified individuals who were wearing facemasks and on board three motorcycles.
Initial report said victim, Rodolfo Aspril, 60, together with a certain Lea Ross, were on their way home on board a motorcycle around 6:45 pm along Commonwealth Avenue, Brgy. Old Balara when one of the suspects shot him several times which caused his instantaneous death.
The suspects also took the victim’s motorcycle before fleeing the crime scene.
Macerin said Aspril is a former PNP member and now an executive officer of the said barangay.
“Upon verification, Aspril has a previous case for illegal drugs,” he said.
Investigators recovered eight fired cartridge cases and one deformed fired bullet of caliber .45.
“The QCPD is now conducting an investigation to establish the identity of the suspects and the motive in the killing of the victim,” Macerin said.
The QCPD chief is also urging anyone who can give any relevant information that will lead in the resolution of the case to report to the nearest police station. Ella Dionisio/DMS
