November 10, 2017
President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed former Bureau of Customs (BOC) officials Milo Maestrecampo and Gerardo Gambala to the Department of Transportation.
Maestrecampo and Gambala, both mutineers during the Arroyo administration, quit from the BOC after they were dragged in the congressional inquiry on the P6.4 billion shabu shipment from China that passed through Customs without inspection last May.
In the appointment paper signed on November 6, Maestrecampo was appointed Assistant Director General II of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, an agency attached to DOTr. He replaced Gustavo Atencia.
Gamabala's appointment paper was also signed on November 6. He was named as Director IV of of the Office for Transportation Security of the DOTr, replacing Roberto Almadin.
Duterte also appointed other officials at the Department of Health and ambassadors to some countries. Celerina Monte/DMS
