Father, 83, shoots son, 50, dead in Quezon City: police

An 83 year- old Chinese businessman shot his son dead in Quezon City on Friday due to financial and personal issues, police said.
Antonio Sy shot his son John Sy, 50, infront of the latter’s house in no.5 dampol st. Damar village, Quezon City , said PO1 Maricris Bunagan of the Quezon City Police District public information office in a phone interview with the Daily Manila Shimbun.
Bunagan said John Sy turned his back on the suspect and he was about to board his vehicle after he had a fight with Antonio Sy. The suspect pulled out his gun and shot the victim twice, Bunagan said.
She said Sy sustained two gunshot wounds in his upper left chest. The victim was rushed in a hospital but declared dead on arrival at 8:55 am.
The suspect will undergo inquest proceedings Saturday evening where he will be charged with parricide, Bunagan said. Alanna Ambi/DMS
