Five alleged Abu Sayyaf supporters arrested in Sulu

ZAMBOANGA CITY - Government troops have apprehended five supporters of the Abu Sayyaf in Sulu, military officials announced Wednesday.
Maj. Gen. Corleto Vinluan, Joint Task Force Sulu commander, said the fivewere apprehended by joint military and police team around 1:09 am Monday in Barangay Busbus, Jolo.
“Troops were acting on a report received of the presence of Mundi Sawadjaan roaming around in Busbus accompanied by armed group,” Vinluan said.
He identified the alleged supporters as Alsamer Kasim, 26; Kasmer Kasim, 18; Kerwin Asjada, 25; Denrasher Ahadan Avestruz, 18; and, Sulmeser Kasim, 22.
He said seized from the suspects were one G1 rifle, one caliber .45 pistol, one shotgun, one M-14 rifle, one caliber .30 light machine gun, and nine M-4 long empty magazines.
The suspects were turned over to the police. DMS
