Five drug suspects arrested, P3.4m worth of drugs seized in Pasay

The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) seized around P3.4 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested five drug suspects in a buy-bust operation in Pasay City last Wednesday night.

Police Brig. General Ronnie Montejo, QC director, said the suspects were Erwin Peredo alias Kiko, 29, his mother Carolina Peredo, 50, his three cohorts identified as Jairabelle Arandia, 24, Jericson Arandia, 20, Domingo Maglaque, 46, and all were residents of Malibay, Pasay City.

Montejo said their joint operation with the Pasay City police and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) happened around 5:30 pm after they received information about the alleged illegal drug activities of Peredo.

They contacted Peredo and asked for P100, 000 worth of illegal drugs and initially agreed to meet at Ortigas, Pasig City.

“However, alias Kiko changed location for the drug deal and proceeded to AMS Apartment located at No. 172 Santos Street, Barangay 166 in Malibay, Pasay City where the drug transaction was made in coordination with the Pasay City Police Office and PDEA.

At a pre-arranged signal, alias Kiko was arrested.

But during the arrest, Kiko’s mother and her live-in partner, Domingo, intervened, resulting in their arrest.

Montejo said Arandia were pointed out by alias Kiko as the supplier of the illegal drugs which also resulted in their arrest.

Also seized in the buy-bust were around 500 grams of shabu with an estimated value of P3,400,000.

Suspects are under police custody and will face charges. Ella Dionisio/DMS
