Four alleged NPA members killed in Masbate

Four alleged members of the New People’s Army (NPA) were killed while high powered firearms were recovered in an encounter with government forces in Masbate on Monday morning.
Col. Edgard Arevalo, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Public Affairs chief, said the troops were conducting combat operation when they encountered more or less 20 armed men at the vicinity of Brgy. Pangle, Aroroy in Masbate around 6:30 am.
The operation was conducted in response to the reported presence of the armed group in the area.
He said after the encounter the enemy withdrew towards southeast direction leaving the body of their comrades. Robina Asido/DMS
