Four, including cop and soldier, hurt in Maguindanao blast

Four people, including a policeman and a solider, were wounded in an improvised explosive device (IED) explosion in Maguindanao on Wednesday.
Capt. Arvin Encinas, Army’s 6th Infantry Division spokesman, said based on initial report there were two explosions occurred in the vicinity of Brgy. Semba, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao on Wednesday morning.
Encinas said there was no casualty on the first explosion that happened at around 7:30 am.
The four were wounded because of the second explosion around 7:50 am of the same day that occurred just five meters away from the location of the first blast.
Encinas did not say how the victims were injured during the second explosion but he identified the victims as barangay chairman Datu Pendatun Sinsuat, Kagawad Sinarimbo Lalaog, PO2 Bobby Guialani Pendililang and Staff Sargent Eddie Cane.
He said based on initial investigation the military believes ,embers of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighter (BIFF) are the suspects.
Encinas said the bandits may have used the explosion as a diversion as government forces are having focused military operation against the group in the province. Robina Asido/DMS
