Four men abduct 64-year-old Fil-Am in Zamboanga del Norte

A 64-year-old Filipino-American from Sirawai, Zamboanga del Norte was abducted by armed men wearing camouflage uniforms on Wednesday, a military official said on Thursday.
Maj. Gen. Generoso Ponio, commander of the 1st Infantry Division, said the victim was identified as Rex Triplet.
Capt. Clint Antipala, spokesman of the 1st Infantry Division spokesman said Triplet and his 24-year-old wife Celsa Maani were riding a motorcycle on their way home in Piacan village when four men flagged them down.
"Triplet's wife managed to escape and seek help from the officials in Tapanayan village," he added.
Antipala said the troops of the 1st Infantry Division, with police and other security forces, were pursuing the kidnapper who were believed to have links with the Abu Sayyaf. Robina Asido/ DMS
