Gamboa visits wake of slain cop in Rizal; extends aid to family

The officer-in-charge of the Philippine National Police on Saturday visited the wake of a slain police officer in Rizal province.
Police Lieutenant General Archie Francisco Gamboa, together with the acting Regional Director of Calabarzon (Cavite- Laguna- Batangas- Rizal- Quezon) police, Police Brigadier General Vicente Danao, went to the wake of Police Staff Sergeant Michael Cabillo.
Cabillo, a member of Drug Enforcement Team (DET) of Pililia Municipal Police Station, was killed in an operation at Aida’s Farm, Barangay Bagumbayan in Pilila, Rizal last Friday.
Gamboa awarded the Medalya ng Kagalingan (PNP Merit Medal) to Cabillo and extended financial assistance to his family.
“I offer my deepest condolences on behalf of the whole PNP members to the family of PSSg Cabillo. Rest assured that the bereaved family of the late PSSg Cabillo will get the full benefits as well as the other two wounded officers,” he said.
An amount of ₱708,000 from the Public Safety Mutual Benefit Fund Inc. (PSMBFI) would be given to Cabillo's family. Initially, a cheque amounting to ₱243,000 was received by slain cop's wife.
Meanwhile, PSSg Lazaro Guinao-wa and Patrolman Paul Ryan Santos who were wounded in the same operation received the Medalya ng Sugatang Magiting (PNP Wounded Personnel Medal) and financial assistance. Ella Dionisio/DMS
