A seven year-old girl went missing after a motor boat capsized off the waters of Masbate on Thursday. The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) identified the missing victims as Rea Rose Molo. The victim was among the 10 passengers of motor boat “Dexter Dave” when it capsized at the vicinity of the waters off Brgy Gumahang, Aroroy. “Information revealed that said motor banca departed Bulan, Sorsogon last July 12 enroute to Carles, Iloilo when they encountered strong winds prevailing in the area which caused the motor banca to capsize,” the report stated. “Nine among the ten passengers of the said motor banca were rescued by the local residents while Rea Rose was left missing,” it added. The report noted that “the search and rescue (SAR) team of Coast Guard Sub-Station Aroroy and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (MDRRMC) were immediately alerted to conduct search and rescue operations at the said vicinity together with the parents of Rea Rose but yielded negative results.” “Personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station Aroroy advised all nearby coastal barangays and all motor vessel transiting in the vicinity to be on the look-out for possible sightings of the missing person and to report immediately to the nearest Coast Guard unit,” he said.
