Gov’t drug agency chief, officials take drug tests
November 4, 2017
Officials of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Saturday took part in a surprise drug test test, the agency said in a statement.
PDEA Director General Aaron Aquino and 34 officials gave urine samples during a command conference at their head office in Quezon City.
“This surprise drug test shows that PDEA, as the sole agency in battling the drug menace, is a drug-free workplace and a role model to other government agencies.” Aquino said in a statement.
“This will help establish our moral ascendancy and is part of the standard procedure in cleansing our ranks,” he added.
PDEA spokesman Derrick Arnold Carreon said 17 regional directors, 13 national staff service directors and four members of the PDEA command group were subjected to drug tests. There was no word when the results will be announced. DMS
