Gov’t giving bounty of P30,000 for information vs LGUs pocketing financial aid
May 5, 2020
The government is ready to give P30,000-reward for anyone who could give information against local government officials pocketing the cash assistance supposedly for the poor families.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said late Monday night that President Rodrigo Duterte wants to stop corruption in the implementation of the Social Amelioration Program and other assistance of the government to the people affected by the coronavirus disease crisis.
"He (Duterte) will give a reward of P30,000 to all those who will report local officials who are pocketing or corrupting the assistance for the poor," he said.
He said those who have information could call 8888.
Roque, however, said those who would report against alleged erring officials should substantiate their allegations by providing evidence.
He said Duterte's offer of bounty is in accordance to his policy of "zero tolerance" against corruption. Celerina Monte/DMS
