Guevarra to discuss alleged Red infiltration at DOJ with AFP
October 5, 2018
Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra on Friday said he will discuss with Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff General Carlito Galvez regarding its allegation that the Department of Justice ( DOJ) has been infiltrated by communists.
“I will take it up directly with AFP (Armed Forces of the Philippines) Chief Galvez to get more info from him. We take this seriously,” Guevarra said.
Guevarra made the statement after AFP Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations Brig. Gen. Antonio Parlade Jr. alleged communists have infiltrated the DOJ and have been helping dismiss criminal complaints against rebels.
“Personally, this is the first time I heard such allegation,” Guevarra said.
Guevarra expressed confidence with the prosecutors in handling criminal complaints.
“Our prosecutors rely principally on the evidence submitted by our law enforcers and security personnel, including the AFP,” he said. DMS
