October 10, 2018
The House committee on transportation on Wednesday approved the bills reverting the name of Clark International Airport to Diosdado Macapagal International Airport.
The panel headed by Catanduanes Rep. Cesar Sarmiento approved House Bills 2274 and 8289, authored by Reps. Aurelio Gonzales of Pampanga and Rodante Marcoleta of party-list 1-Sagip.
Sarmiento said the airport was already named after the former president, who is from Pampanga, in 2001 by the board of directors of the Clark Development Corporation.
In 2011, the board of directors of the Clark International Airport Corporation adopted a resolution reverting it to Clark International Airport. DMS
