IATF to discuss if Christmas caroling to be banned
November 6, 2020
Malacanang said on Friday that the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases has yet to discuss if it will ban Christmas caroling.
This was after Cagayan Governor Manuel Mamba has urged the government to prohibit the traditional house-to-house caroling during Christmas season to prevent the spread of coronavirus disease.
"It was not yet discussed in the IATF, but I'm sure that will be put in the agenda in the next IATF meeting," said Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque in the "Laging Handa" press briefing.
According to Mamba, the children who usually engage in caroling could be exposed to individuals who are infected with COVID-19.
Under an IATF resolution, children below 15 are among those not allowed to go out. Celerina Monte/DMS
