Illegal sellers of COVID-19 rapid test kits arrested in Cebu

Authorities arrested illegal sellers of COVID-19 rapid test kits in an entrapment operation in Cebu province on Monday.
Lt. Col. Aristides Galang Jr., Philippine Air Force spokesman, said the agents of PAF with government operatives arrested four suspects for selling rapid test kits online in an entrapment operation at Gaisano Mactan Island Mall, Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu.
"A total of 1,200 pieces of COVID-19 rapid test kits were confiscated from the suspects which are said to be sold for a total of PPAF 960,000.00," he said.
"The apprehended individuals will face the charges for violating Republic Act 9711 (FDA Act of 2009) in Relation to FDA Advisory No. 2020- 016 (Prohibition of Online Selling of FDA Certified COVID-19 Antibody Test Kits)," he added.
Galang said PAF agents with different operatives are working hand-in-hand to apprehend individuals who are illegally selling COVID-19 rapid test kits. Robina Asido/DMS
