May 28, 2018

Bureau of Immigration (BI) officers at the Clark International Airport in Pampanga intercepted a South Korean allegedly wanted in Seoul for running a prostitution ring in the Philippines.

In a report Monday to Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente, OIC Deputy Commissioner and BI Port Operations Division Chief Marc Red Mariñas identified the Korean as Hong Yong, 44, who was apprehended Wednesday afternoon upon his attempt to board an Asiana Airlines flight to Seoul.

He was brought to the BI Detention Facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City pending his deportation.

Yong was arrested after the immigration officer noticed his name appeared in the BI watchlist of wanted alien fugitives.

According to BI spokesperson Dana Krizia Sandoval, Hong is the subject of a watchlist order issued on January 18 this year following reports from the Korean Embassy Hong is wanted in South Korea for “arranging the sexual traffic” of Korean tourists.

Hong is to be included in the blacklist and banned from re-entering the country after deportation. DMS
