Immigration officers at the Clark International Airport in Angeles City, Pampanga said Thursday they stopped a suspect in the shipment of P 6.4 billion worth of shabu into the country from leaving the country.
Maria Antonette Mangrobang, Bureau of Immigration (BI) spokesperson, said Richard Tan a.k.a. Chen Ju Long was intercepted as he was about to board a China Eastern Airlines flight to Shanghai, China.
Mangrobang said the incident happened at around 3 am when Tan showed himself for inspection at the Clark airport ‘s immigration departure counter.
After scanning Tan’s passport on the computer, the immigration officer discovered that the passenger is the subject of an immigration lookout bulletin order issued by BI Commissioner Jaime Morente last Aug. 3.
The lookout order was issued on orders of Justice Secretary Vitaliano Agurre II who instructed immigration officers to watch Tan and seven suspects who are under investigation for involvement in the P6.4-billion shabu shipment case.
Immigration duty supervisors Abubakar Rasuman and Cynthia Reodica deferred Tan’s departure.
“He was was advised to secure an allow departure order from the Department of Justice,” Mangrobang said. DMS
