Impeachment complaint vs Sereno sent to Speaker’s office

An impeachment process against Chief Justice Ma. Lourdes Sereno was transmitted to the office of Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez Wednesday night after the verified complaint was filed.

House Majority Floor Leader and Ilocos Norte Rep. Rodolfo Fariñas said House Secretary General Cesar Pareja transmitted the 54-page verified complaint filed by Larry Gadon, president of the PDU30 Constitutional Reform to Federalism, to the office of Alvarez.

“May we transmit the herein attached original copies of the  impeachment complaint filed by Atty. Lorenzo G. Gadon against Chief Justice Maria Lourdes P.A. Sereno of the Supreme Court of the Philippines,” said Pareja on his memorandum to Alvarez.

Under the rules, Fariñas said Alvarez has 10 session days to send to the House committee on rules which he chairs the verified complaint to include it to the order of business for referral to the House committee on justice.

The House justice committee has 60 session days to conduct hearings and submit the report. DMS
