Japanese found dead in Angeles City apartment

A Japanese national was found dead inside his apartment in Angeles City, Pampanga last Saturday, police said on Thursday.

SPO1 Jaypee Anthony Taloban of the Angeles City Police Office said the Japanese was found inside Narra Apartment, 401B Narra Road Clarkton, Barangay Malabanias, Angeles City after one of the caretakers noted a stinky odor coming from his room.

A police report said based "on initial impression of the cadaver of the deceased noted no sign of foul play."

Taloban, in a text message to Daily Manila Shimbun, said the Japanese "might have committed the act (of suicide) between evening of December 11 to December 16 afternoon."

Gilbert Salinas, the caretaker, said he did not see the Japanese since last Monday, a police report said..

Salinas with a village leader named Juvi Tismo and the secretary of the apartment decided to destroy the door but a report said they weren't able to open it because something is blocking the door.

Salinas climbed the terrace and saw the Japanese's body, the police report said.

Taloban said the Japanese's body fell and blocked the door when the staff destroyed the door knob.

Taloban said bottles of alcohol were found. He added one of the tenants said the Japanese told him his girl friend broke up with him.  "That's is one of the reasons we are looking at on why he commit (suicide)," he said.

According to Taloban, caretakers said they didn't notice any suspicious noise or person before the incident. "All things inside the room were intact and no signs of forced entry," he said.
