Japanese student reports watch stolen at dining hall

A 39-year-old Japanese student's watch at the dining place of a school in Baguio City last Monday, police said.

SPO2 Dominic Lang-akan of Cordillera Police Regional Office on Saturday said the victim is studying at the Monol International Education Institute located along Tacay road in Brgy. Pinsao Proper.

Lang-akan said based on the report made by the Japanese around 4:40pm last Thursday, the watch is worth 43,070 yen or 28,000 pesos.

Chief Inspector Gil Imado, Baguio City Station 2 commander said authorities knew a copy of the CCTV footage at the time of the incident was erased as the victim reported the incident to the police three days after her watch was stolen.

Imado said he is planning to request the school to provide them the hard drive of the CCTV to see if they can retrieve the footage of the incident. Robina Asido/DMS
