Journalist killed in Sultan Kudarat

MARAWI CITY — Gunmen shot a journalist dead in the town of President Quirino town in the southern Philippine province of Sultan Kudarat Monday morning.
Leodoro Diaz, a columnist of regional newspaper Sapol and reporter of Radio Mindanao Network, police said.
Senior Superintendent Raul Supiter, provincial police commander, said Diaz had left his house in the village of Katiko driving his motorcycle when he was attacked by two men around 9 a.m.
Supiter said Diaz, in his 60s, sustained multiple gunshot wounds in his body resulting in his immediate death.
“We are investigating the motive as well the personalities behind the attack,” Supiter said.
John Paul Jubelag, publisher of Sapol News, said in a phone interiuew Diaz have been working with them in the last 10 years. He said the motive could be work related and they called on authorities to arrest the perpetrators. DMS
