Korean found in Mountain Province after missing for a week

La Trinidad, Benguet– A Korean who went missing a week ago along the borders of Mt. Province and Ifugao was located by rescuers at a hut in remote sitio Tungcho, barangay Latang, in Barlig, Mt. Province. Weak and drinking only water, Choi Sun Kyu, 56, was found by rescuers from the military, disaster response teams, policemen and other civilian volunteers around 11:40 Tuesday morning along a creek line. Edward Chumawar, Mt. Province Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council officer said they brought Choi to the nearest highway, around a three-hour hike from where he was seen, and rushed him to Bontoc, the province’s capital. Choi arrived in Barlig on June 7 and checked in at the Halfway Inn and Restaurant at the town center. Two days after, he checked out from his hotel and told the owner he was heading to Battad, Banaue, Ifugao where the Battad Rice Terraces are located. DMS
