Lanao del Norte mayor, 4 others arrested in Ozamiz

A municipal mayor and his four escorts were arrested for possessing firearms with expired licenses in Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental on Saturday.
Chief Superintendent Timoteo Pacleb, Northern Mindanao police regional director, said the official is Kolambugan Mayor Lorenzo Manigos of Lanao del Norte,
Manigos, Dicky Bantilan, Mario Dayaman, Nestor Gabrinez and Noel Agapia were captured at 7:30 a.m. at the Ozamiz Port in Barangay Baybay Triunfo, Pacleb said in a text message.
Manigos was met by his escorts as he had come from Manila. Policemen then stopped them to check their firearms.
Two 9mm pistols and two .45 caliber pistols had expired licenses, police said. Three hand grenades were also seized, police added.
Manigos and the four are facing cases for violating the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition. DMS
