Leyte cop killer nabbed in Baguio
April 10, 2020
BAGUIO CITY – A construction worker from Leyte who allegedly killed a cop was arrested in Baguio City on Wednesday.
Leonilo Medalla, a native of Carigara, Leyte, was cornered by Baguio policemen at Justice Village. This left Col. Allan Rae Co, the Baguio city police chief, baffled at how Medalla eluded many quarantine checkpoints.
Co said Medalla shot Police Staff Sergeant Fernan Canuda, who was serving a warrant of arrest, at Sitio Macalapi Barangay Libas, Leyte on April 5.
Canuda is Leyte’s sixth most wanted person.
Baguio policemen are tracing Medalla and his possible contacts for COVID-19 when he travelled all the way from Leyte, said Co. DMS
