LG Corp of South Korea said interested to enter Philippine telco market

A senior Palace official said South Korea's LG Corp. is the foreign partner which wants to join Philippine Telegraph and Telephone Co (PT&T) as the country's third telco player.
Citing his sources, Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Martin Andanar told dzBB late Friday, the South Korean firm is interested to enter the Philippine telecommunications market.
“It will become a very exciting telco industry for the Philippines this 2018,” he told dzBB.
A few days ago, Andanar mentioned a South Korean firm was joining PT&T but did not reveal its name.
President Rodrigo Duterte said China Telecom had expressed interest to challenge the duopoly of Smart Communications and Globe Telecoms. DMS
