Love triangle? Cops nab suspects in OFW murder

Authorities have arrested the alleged mastermind and his lover in the killing of an overseas Filipino worker who just arrived from Saudi Arabia last Saturday.

Chief Supt. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, Police Regional Office 4-A director, identified the suspect as Roel Guico, alleged lover of Janet Manalo Capalad, wife of the victim Danilo Henson Teruel, 57.

Based on initial report, Teruel, along with Capalad, just arrived from Saudi Arabia when he was shot dead by unidentified suspect outside their house in Brgy. Pinagkawitan, Lipa City, Batangas last Saturday.

A witness identified Guico, who was also the driver who fetched the couple from the airport, as the alleged mastermind in the killing.

“According to witnesses, days before the incident, Roel Guico was seen talking to the gunman and on the day before the arrival of the victim with his wife, the witness again saw Roel Guico talking to the gunman,” Eleazar said.

Aside from Guico, Capalad was also arrested on Sunday, May 20. They were charged with the crime of murder before the City Prosecutors' Office.

The police were still conducting manhunt operation against the gunman. Robina Asido/DMS
