LTFRB suspends bus trips to Quezon due to bad weather

The Land Transportation Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on Tuesday suspended bus trips to Aurora and Quezon province due to tropical depression Maring.
"Bus trips to Aurora province and other areas in Quezon province are temporarily suspended due to the declaratuion of typhoon Maring Signal No. 1 by Pagasa today", LTRFB said in an advisory sent by board member Aileen Lizada in her Viber account.
"Bus plying the said route are advised to remain at their respective terminals to provide their passengers ready access to food and personal amenities", it said.
The LTFRB advised the bus operators to assist the passengers and help them on their needs.
Lizada said ports operation in Dalahican and Lucena Quezon, and Batangas City were suspended since 5 am on Tuesday.
She said a bus was stranded in Brgy. Ilaya Pitongo, Quezon.
"Per report of my staff,the local disaster group was in the area to rescue the passengers of the stranded bus", she said.
Lizada said public utility vehicle operators near the area helped rescue stranded passengers. DMS
