LTFRB to increase taxi fare
October 4, 2017
Taxi fares will increase in the next two weeks after the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has approved petitions.
In a decision on Wednesday, LTFRB said taxis in the Metro Manila and the provinces, except Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), are "permanently" allowed to raise the flag down fare to P40.
For those in CAR, the permanent flag down fare is P35.
Taxis are ":authorized to charge P13.50 per kilometer of distance traveled and two pesos per minute of travel time from origin to destination," the LTFRB decision said.
The LTFRB will publish the order in a newspaper of general circulation. It takes effect two weeks after publication. DMS
