Magnitude 6.6 quake shakes Davao Oriental, no damage expected: Phivolcs

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 struck Governor Generoso in Davao Oriental at 4:50 pm, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seimsology ( Phivolcs) said Thursday.

The epicenter of the quake, tectonic in origin, was located 172 kiloneters south of Governor Generoso.

"No damage is expected,'' said Phivolcs in its bulletin.  Aftershocks are expected, it added.

Intensity Three was recorded in Kiamba, Sarangani and Intensity Two was felt in General Santos City, Phivolcs said. DMS
