March 21, 2018
Makati Mayor Abigail Binay ordered the operator of an electronic billboard to immediately cease operations Tuesday night after netizens posted a video showing the content as allegedly pornographic.
The billboard will remain closed pending the results of an investigation into the incident and the liabilities of the owner Globaltronics and its personnel, the Makati City Hall said in a statement Wednesday.
Netizens posted a Facebook video of the material on the billboard late Tuesday afternoon.
“Upon being informed of reports of inappropriate images being shown on the billboard located at Sen Gil Puyat Ave. corner Makati Ave., Mayor Abby Binay immediately ordered the owner of the billboard to cease and desist from operations last night. The operator immediately complied with the order,” Maribert Pagente, head of the city’s Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO), said.
“The mayor also ordered an immediate investigation of the incident to determine the cause and liabilities of those concerned. Pending such investigation, the billboard shall remain closed,” he said. DMS
