Merry Mart lists at Philippine Stock Exchange

Merry Mart Consumer Corp. traded at the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) for the first time on Monday, rising 50 centavos from its initial public offering price of P1.00 one hour into trading.
It was one of the most active stocks as of 10:35 am. Volume reached 238, 638,000 valued at P352,030,090.
However, as of 10:30 a.m., the PSE index was down 185.78 points at 6,290.46.
Merry Mart, which operates grocery stores and run by businessman Edgar Sia II, is the first company to list at the PSE this year.
Joining Merry Mart Consumer Corp. chairman Edgar Sia II at the listing ceremonies were Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III and PSE President and CEO Ramon Monzon.
Sia is also the founder of restaurant chain Mang Inasal and chairman of Double Dragon Properties. DMS
